Dewey Farmer

Dewey Donald Farmer, 84, of Gastonia, passed away May 21, 2012, at Hospice of Rutherford County, Forest City, NC. He was born March 14, 1928 in Greenville County, SC, son of the late Grover J. and Ethel Campbell Farmer. Mr. Farmer was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Mark Tankersly. The family will receive friends 10-11am prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. He is survived by: sons, Jed D. Farmer of Gastonia, Garry G. Farmer and wife, Carole of Gastonia; brothers, Robert V. Farmer and wife, Nancy of Cherryville, Ray Farmer and wife, Cecilia of Gastonia; sister, Gladys Holland of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Maria Roland and husband, Matthew of Gastonia, Anna Lancaster of Mt. Holly, David B. Farmer and wife, Ashley of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Ashtyn, Ryan, Elias, Corbin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Joyce Farmer; brothers, Johnny, Clyde G. and Joel E. "P.D." Farmer. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P. O.
