Dewayne Adams, 56, of Cherryville, passed away on August 14, 2018.
He was born December 17, 1961, in Gaston County, the son of the late Howard Morrow and Nancy Ellen Adams.
Dewayne was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia. He was a member of High Shoals Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of Crowders Mountain Fire and Rescue. He was also a former driver and dispatcher for Metro Cab Company. He loved his family and helping others in any way he could.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam Adams and fiancé Donnie Hart, Ashley Adams, Amber Perdue and husband JD and Brianna Adams; son, Carl Byrd and wife Marcia; sisters, Brenda Parrish and Cindy Peterson; grandchildren, Macy Hart, Brooklyn and Kenneth Holt; and Neveah and Isaiah Gray.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Becky Langley and Gail Philbeck.
A funeral service will be held 4 pm Saturday, August 18th at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 1326 Cedar Avenue, Gastonia, officiated by Evangelist George Langley.
A visitation will be held 1 – 3 pm prior to the service at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
