It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Devin Ray Millsaps, who left us too soon on May 22, 2026, at the young age of 28 due to natural causes. Born on March 26, 1998, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Devin spent his life in Gastonia, where he became a beloved member of the community.
Devin was a dedicated landscaper, known for his hard work and passion for lawn care. He didn't just see it as a job; it was a way for him to connect with nature and bring beauty to the spaces around him. When he wasn't landscaping, you could find him at the wrestling mat, where he thrived as an athlete and left a lasting impression on all who watched him compete. He also loved spending his weekends at tractor shows, tinkering with small engines, and sharing his love for repairs with his Dad.
Devin was more than just his hobbies; he was a cherished son to his father, Billy Ray Millsaps (Starleen); and his mother, Tabitha Johnson (Ralph); girlfriend , Jessica McKay; grandparents, Charlie and Pat Millsaps, and Vernon and Debra West; step children, Shannon, Shyanne, and Isabelle; step brother, Cameron Johnson; step sister, Alyssa Walker; Uncle, David West (Elizabeth); and aunt, Christa Wood (Paul); many cousins and friends. His warm spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Devin was a proud member of The Place Church, where he formed deep connections with his faith and community.
We invite all family and friends to honor Devin's memory in a celebration of his life. A graveside service will take place at Armstrong Cemetery 2:00 pm Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Devin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julia West.
Rest easy, Devin. You will forever be in our hearts.
