Debbie passed away January 4, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby NC

Debbie was retired from Dollar General but held jobs at Rauch Industries and A&E for many years. Debbie was an extremely hard worker and loyal and loving to a fault. She loved with her whole heart and was loved back by many. She was quick to offer a helping hand when needed. Debbie had a wicked sense of humor and loved to laugh and joke. She tried to make life better for almost everyone she knew. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fans and loved UNC Tarheels.

Survivors include the love of her life, her husband, William "Shane" Mitchell of the home; son, Elvis Whitley of Cherryville; two stepdaughters, Misty Raschella-Stanley of Grafton WV and Lois Allen of Gastonia; two sisters, Mary Costner and husband Randy of Gastonia, Edna Rose and husband Robbie of Gastonia; five grandchildren, Rhonda Smith and husband Mike of Gastonia, Heather Black of Deltona Fl., Samantha Alley and husband Shawn of Clover, SC, Tiffany Whitley Patterson and husband Patrick of Clover SC, Johnny Whitley of Gastonia. 10 great-grandchildren, Bentley Patterson of the home, Chelsea Smith, and Amber Smith, Brady Brazell, Harley Alley, and Sadie Alley Christopher Whitley, Mackenzie Whitley, Trevor Whitley, Brayleigh Whitley; one great-great grandchild, Caroline Martin; and very special friends, Beth and Beverly.

Services for Debbie will be Saturday Jan. 18, 2025, at Greene Funeral Serice West Chapel From 5:00 PM to 7:00PM.
