Deborah "Debbie" Blake

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Deborah "Debbie" Blake, age 69, of Bessemer City, who departed this life on August 21, 2025. Born on March 18, 1956, in Gaston County North Carolina, Debbie lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and her students.

Debbie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandbabies, who brought her immense happiness and pride.

A passionate educator, Debbie spent many years nurturing the minds of young children as a schoolteacher at Tryon Elementary School in Bessemer City. Her love for teaching was evident in her dedication to her students, whom she inspired with her creativity and compassion. She enjoyed engaging in crafts and scrapbooking, often using her talents to create beautiful memories for her family. Additionally, her heart was captivated by the allure of the beach, where she found solace and joy during her travels.

Debbie's warm spirit and kind heart will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her 'better half", Ken Earls; her children, Wendy Hartnett (Vernon), George Blake (Annete), and Renata Earls; grandbabies, Sara, Kristopher, George, Nicholas, along with a host of loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents : George Crosby and Ruby Self Crosby.

A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at a later date.

In this time of grief, we ask everyone to remember the love and joy Debbie brought into our lives. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through her family and all those she touched throughout her years.
