Debbie Bennett

Debbie Bennett, 52, of Gastonia, passed away December 2, 2014. She was born December 25, 1961 in Martinsville, VA, daughter of Gary Leon Akers, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth "Peggy" Stultz. In addition to her father, Debbie is survived by her significant other, Charlie Padget of Gastonia; children, Jason Bennett of Asheville and Amanda Buchanan of Gastonia; grandchildren, Melanie and Madison Buchanan and Charlie - Grace Mathis all of Gastonia; brothers, Gary "Leon" Akers, Jr. and wife, Annette and Barry Akers and husband, Phillip Strickland. A memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel - 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Scott Whitney. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Levine Children's Hospital - PO Box 32861, Charlotte, NC 28232. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
