Dayna C. Goomis, 85, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

She was born in Bryson City, NC on June 30, 1938, to the late James Swayney and Evelyn Crisp.

Dayna loved her family. She loved to collect native American art. She loved animals.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Randy Stegall.

Dayna is survived by her sons, Daryl Arrowood (Adriane), Steven Arrowood; daughter, Phyllis Salazar (Juan); seven grandchildren, Tara Lauren McCaffrey (Conor), Valarie Willems (Justin), Maddie Arrington (Taylor), Elaina Tranbarger (Kyle), Houston Salazar (Brandi), 2B Salazar, Elizabeth Salazar (Matt Jenkins); eleven great-grandchildren, Caden, Brian, Kay, Leah, Bennett, Kaleb, Jaden, Houston, Anthony, Gabriel, Carter.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, 2:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC. Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2023, 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
