David Pegram, Sr.

David Lee Pegram, Sr., 93, of Gastonia, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born on October 24, 1927, in Cleveland County, to the late Perciful and Madge Harrill Pegram.

David was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gastonia, where he was also an elder and deacon. He was a veteran of the United States Army. David was the former owner and operator of David Pegram Photography. He especially loved to photograph birds and weddings.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Wilson Pegram; son, Edward Lee Pegram; and brothers Bill and Hugh Pegram.

Left to cherish David's memories are his son, David Lee Pegram, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Pamela Pegram; grandchildren, Christine Beaudoin, Jessica Harvard, Casey Pegram, Jennifer Smith, and Daniel Pegram; great-grandchildren, Michael Collins, Pierce Beaudoin, Abbie Harvard, Lucy Harvard, Cooper Pegram, Millie Jo Pegram, Cayd Pegram, Emilia Smith, Ellie Joy Pegram , and Ruthie Belle Pegram.

A memorial service, officiated by Revs. Daniel Commerford, Lauren Sease Vanacore, and John H. Stanley, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church – 1621 East Garrison Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28054.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church – 1621 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
