David Payne

David Payne, 61, of Bessemer City, passed away July 14, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born June 11, 1954, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late, Frank and Alice Payne. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Vanessa Payne of the home; daughter, Jennifer Patrick and husband Don; son, David A. Payne; grandchildren, Elijah Payne, Alex Riffle and Zoie Bridges; brother, Billy Payne and wife Evonne; sister, Barbara Jones and husband Alan and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Elwood Payne. The family wishes to give special thanks to his special friend, Joy Barrett RN with Lincoln Hospice and Layla. A memorial service will be held 6 pm Friday at Westview Baptist Church - 3385 Fairview Drive, Gastonia, officiated by Pastors Jerry Millwood and Billy Wooten. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County - 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
