David Allen Jacobs, Sr.

David Allen Jacobs Sr., 80, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A Gaston County native, he was born November 18, 1941, son of the late Oscar and Eunice Jacobs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn and Jimmy Jacobs; and sister, Janice Dye.

David was a member of Firestone Wesleyan Church and a US Army veteran.

He retired from Burlington Industries, Mt. Holly Plant, where he was a supervisor.

David was a loving, caring person who loved his family – wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He drove a charter bus for many years and also served as an umpire in adult softball leagues.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Shirley Jacobs; sons, David Allen Jacobs Jr. and wife Liz, Curtis Jacobs and wife Trish, David "Chuck" Jacobs and wife Denise, Chad Jacobs; daughter, Terrie J. Weathers; grandchildren, Joshua Jacobs, Candice Jacobs, Kyle Jacobs, Matthew Jacobs, Brandon Jacobs, Chase Carver, and Trey Carver; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrna Cunningham and Nancy Sheppard; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece, Jessica Price Mitchell; and special nephews, Ronnie and Johnny Phillips.

All services for Mr. Jacobs will be private.
