David Allen Griffis

David Allen Griffis, 51, of Bessemer City, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur, NC. He was born in Cleveland County on August 23, 1972, to the late William and Veronia Locklear Griffis. He is also preceded in death by his brother Darrell Griffis.

David was a member of Good News Tabernacle in Bessemer City. David was a loving father, caring brother, and a great friend. He loved his children, grandchildren, and all his family. He was a good-hearted person who would do anything for anyone. He loved his fur baby, Carter.

David is survived by his daughters, Whitney and Noah Durham, Natalie Griffis (Matt Sowers); brothers, Randy Griffis (Melisa), Ricky Griffis, Brian Griffis, Barry Griffis (Delores); sister, Debra Griffis; six grandchildren, Grayson Griffis, Nova Sowers, Aubrey Sowers, Addie Sowers, Naomi Sowers, and Waylon Sowers. Nieces and nephews, Dillon Griffis (Tori), Montana Johnson, Brittany Johnson (James Elliott), Heath Griffis, Heather and Jamie Singleton, Wesley Griffis (Brigitte), Jacob Hildebrand (Alexis) and a loving Nana, Vernell.

A Celebration of Life service officiated by Pastor Ray Goodson, will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023, 4:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
