David Brooks

David Brooks, 86, of Peak Resources, passed away April 22, 2018 at Peak Resources in Gastonia.

He was born, a native of Gaston County on December 3, 1931, the son of the late Almede Sprinkle Brooks Barker.

David was the Senior Deacon at Bright Light Baptist Church in Bessemer City and a United States Army Veteran of WWII.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Teresa Moss and Sonya Dixon and husband Billy; grandchildren Daniel Moss, Jennifer Costner, Brandon Dixon; great-grandchild Blayk Moss; and brother Ernest Brooks and wife Joann.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Adline Plemmons Brooks; daughter Robin Elaine Hickman; two brothers and one sister.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor James Drennan and the Rev. Ronnie Pressley,  will be held 2 pm Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Bright Light Baptist Church in Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Interment will be in Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Memorials may be made to Bright Light Baptist Church, 112 White Jenkins Rd., Bessemer City, NC 28016.
