Darlene Dowd

Darlene Louise Dowd, 75, of Gastonia, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 peacefully at her residence.

She was born on February 14 ,1945, in Louisville, KY, to the late James and Minnie Tidings Farmer.

Darlene enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. She loved to watch the Hallmark Channel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Farmer.

Left to cherish Darlene's memories are her loving husband of 43 years, Ralph Dowd, Sr.; sons, Ralph Dowd, Jr. and wife Lynn and Kevin Dowd; daughters, Laurie Oleshak and husband Duncan, and Roxanne Carlson and husband John; brother, Bill Farmer; grandchildren, Lindsay Oleshak, Amanda Oleshak, Duncan Oleshak, II, Taylor Oleshak, Justin Parker, Stephanie Parker, Josh Lampman, Brianna Dowd, Alecia Dowd, Kevin Dowd, Jr., Brylyn Norton, Holden Dowd, and Natalie Dowd; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mrs. Darlene, officiated by Dr C.L. Simmons, will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052.
