Danny Wendell Spurrier

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Danny Wendell Spurrier, who left this world peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 85. Danny was born on July 18, 1940, in Cornelius, NC, and spent his later years in Dallas, NC, where he touched many lives with his kindness and creativity.

Danny was a dedicated member of the West 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Church in Gastonia. He had a natural talent for arts and crafts, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. After retiring from Wix Filter Manufacturing, Danny often infused his days with a spirit of service and love for the Lord.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura Mayhue Rosser, as well as his brothers-Billy Spurrier, Reggie Spurrier, and Barry Rosser-and his sister, Laura Elizabeth Synder. He also sadly lost his sons Richard Bingham, Sang Huynh, and Keith Bingham, along with his son-in-law, Sang Huynh.

He leaves behind his loving children: Jane Bingham, Annette and Bobby Bostic, Elaine Bingham, Julie and Butch Persinger, Carey Bingham, Terry and Jennifer Bingham, and Donna Bingham, who, along with her fiancé Kelly, will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Danny is also survived by his stepchildren, Lynn and Jerry Thomas, and Reba and Lonnie Snyder, a sister Martha "Jane" and William Smith, a brother John and Kathy Rosser, and a large family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the West 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Church -2145 W Fifth Avenue Gastonia, NC 28056, followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Justin Grigg at 11:00 AM to celebrate Danny's life and legacy. He will find his final resting place at Gaston Memorial Park - 1200 S New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC, where family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory.

Danny Wendell Spurrier will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
