Danny Aka "Medic" Metcalf

Danny Metcalf, aka "Medic", passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 at the age of 52. He was an honor graduate of Gaston College, earning a degree in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in the mountains. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He was also a dedicated son to his mother.

Danny was a native to Gaston County, born January 12, 1964. He was a     stepson to the late Jerry Rush. He is survived by his mother, Jean Rush of Lowell; a son, Michael Metcalf of Gastonia; one sister, Sherry Rush Shrum and her spouse, Mike Shrum of Lincolnton; and two nephews, Kendall and Riley Shrum of Lincolnton; aunt, Doris Taylor of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Danny was fortunate to have many special friends in his life. John Cantrell, whom we gratefully thank for all he has done recently for Danny. Kevin Farr, his "brother from another mother". Lani Busbin, Tammy Lee, Janice Crisp, Joyce Lail, Jimmy Dellinger, and Lisa Moore, are just name a few. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at East Belmont Baptist Church beginning at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Jeff Taylor will officiate the service.
