Danny Gene Mace

It is with a spirit of celebration for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Danny Gene Mace, who departed this world on July 12, 2026, in Cherryville, NC. Born on April 1, 1955, in Gaffney, SC, Danny brought joy and creativity to many throughout his 40-plus years as a self-employed residential painter. His artistry was a testament to his passion and dedication, leaving a vibrant mark on every project he undertook.

Danny was a lover of the outdoors, finding solace in fishing, and he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends during nights filled with bowling and shooting pool. He lived life to the fullest, cultivating friendships that spanned decades and fostering laughter wherever he went.

Danny is preceded in death by his beloved parents, John Robert Baldwin Sr. and Marcia Scruggs Baldwin, as well as his devoted brother, John Robert Baldwin Jr. He is survived by his loving sister-in-law, Jeanie Baldwin; cherished nephews, Justin and Benjamin Baldwin; and dear nieces, Hannah and Jenifer Baldwin. He also leaves behind a host of cousins who held him dear: Rodney and Scott Scruggs, Kenneth Carroll, Sheila Wylie, Lori Oliver, Myra Safrit, and Sherry Beaty, as well as close friends Scott, Lisa, and Nathan Carpenter.
