Danny Huss

April 12, 1945 — December 14, 2025

Danny "Poppy" Huss, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 80.

He was born on April 12, 1945, in Dallas, NC, and grew up surrounded by family and friends who cherished his warm spirit.

Danny proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War, where he worked as a crew chief on a helicopter. After his service, he dedicated over 24 years to Freightliner in Mount Holly as an assembly line operator. He took pride in his work and built lasting friendships along the way.

Danny was a family man through and through. He loved attending his grandchildren's ballgames, cheering them on with unwavering support. His greatest joy came from being with his family, sharing stories, laughter, and making memories that will last a lifetime.

Danny is survived by his son, Michael "Brent" Huss (Melissa), and his daughter, Jennifer Huss, brother, Rodney Huss (Millie), sister, Sue Moffett; and grandchildren, Austin Huss (fiance Priscilla), Garrett Huss (Skylar), Jenna Schwartz, Seth Huss (girlfriend Olivia), and Annaleigh Morgan, who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts.

Details about the service will be announced soon, and all who knew him are welcome to join in remembering a remarkable man whose warmth and love touched so many lives.
