Danny Gaither Hicks

Danny Gaither Hicks, 75, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, NC.

He was born December 2, 1946, in Mecklenburg Co, NC, son of the late Ambrose Gaither Hicks and Louise Wingate Hicks.

Danny attended Stanley Welcome Missionary Baptist Church, Stanley, NC. He retired from the City of Gastonia. Danny loved horses; especially showing Tennessee Walking horses. He was an avid collector of antiques and stuff, and he also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Danny loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Hicks.

Danny is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda Darlene Hicks; daughters, Tami Norris and husband, Jason, Crystal Venable and significant other, Mark Tew, and Angel Register and husband, Derek; and grandchildren, Wesley Norris, Spencer Norris, Chandler Norris, Gracie Venable, Abby Venable, Kylee Register, and Easton Register.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Cecil Spry, will be held 2pm on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont, NC.
