Daniel Finger

Daniel Finger, age 57, of Kings Mountain, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A Gaston County native, he was born September 25, 1954, son of the late William and Vassie Goodson Finger. Mr. Finger attended Eighth Street Church of God in Bessemer City. He was retired from the City of Gastonia after 30 years of service, worked at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and volunteered at B.R.E.A.D. Inc. Food Bank for eight years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers. Daniel is survived by his wife of over 24 years, Sandra Gibson Finger; sons, Mark Finger and wife, Shannon, David Finger and wife, Tracey, Billy Thornburg and wife, Robin, Shane Boggs, and Quenton Boggs; daughters, Angela Jarrell and husband, James, Brittany Boggs; sisters, Wanda Williams and husband, Bruce, Anita Shipman, and Libby Frady; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, July 16, from 4:30 until 6:30pm at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York. Rd., Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 7:00pm Monday, at the funeral home, officiated by the Revs. Dorothy Lowery, John Heath, Ronnie Pennington, and Johnny Pennington. Memorials may be made to B.R.E.A.D.
