Daniel "Danny" Ertzberger

Daniel Lee "Danny" Ertzberger, 74, of Gastonia, passed away on July 8, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, NC.

He was born on June 2, 1946 to the late Walker and Willie Ertzberger.

Danny was a current member of Dallas Church of God.  He was formerly a member of East Gastonia Church of God where he was the choir leader.  Danny was a former president of the Smyre Community Watch.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Garland and Lacy Camp; paternal grandparents; and father-in-law, Jesse Jernigan.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Ertzberger; son, Stephen Ertzberger; mother-in-law, Eula Mae Jernigan; brother, Roger Ertzberger and wife Mickey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry Jernigan and wife, Carolyn, Maurice Jernigan and wife, Zana, Patricia Griffin; nephews and nieces, Angie Waters, Monica Crutchfield and husband Jerry, Shane Jernigan, Donovan Hartley, Bryan Norris, Steve Norris, Carla Norris Potter; great nephews and nieces, Nathan Waters, Jessica Waters, Noah Crutchfield, Colin Jernigan, Caden Jernigan, Riley Hartley, Ragan Hartley, Katie, Zachary, Phillip, Nathan, Jeremy, Jeffrey, and Jennifer.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. D. R. Shortridge, will be held Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at Gaston Memorial Park Garden of Honor, Gastonia, NC.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.
