Daisy Webb Yancey

Gastonia, NC Daisy Webb Yancey, 91, passed away November 17, 2013 at her home. She was born July 7, 1922 in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Driskill and Viola Carver Webb. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Love Memorial Baptist Church, Gastonia officiated by Pastor Mike Criswell. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 pm Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. She was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Bali. Mrs. Yancey is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Viola Waters of Cherryville and Ruth Ann Mortrud of Cherryville; 5 grandchildren; she also raised another grandchild, David Alexander; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by: her husband, Horace Yancey; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; grandchild, Terry Alexander. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 E Walnut Ave Gastonia, NC 28054.
