Cynthia "Cindy" Yvonne Price

Cynthia "Cindy" Yvonne Price, age 65, departed from her tired earthly form July 7, 2023, after a life-long battle with diabetes.

Cindy was born November 16, 1957, in Gastonia to Patsy Jo Smith and the late Everette Elmer Tanner Jr.

She married her soulmate and best friend, Vincent Dean Price, on December 11, 1989, who preceded her in death in February 2011, and awaited her among the gates of Heaven.

Cindy was a force.  She was both the storm and the rainbow, the push and pull of the sea, the hurricane and the eye.  She was restlessness and patience, temper and composition, obscurity and clarity, love and indifference.  Her presence was like the sun in December – one that delicately steals the moment and absorbs the bitterness of the cold.  She was creative and outspoken, quiet and loud, witty and reserved.  Cindy was intricately herself – which seemed to be all that anyone needed her to be.  She was, and will remain, unforgettable to all whom she touched with her grace and chaos.

Cindy is survived by her mother, Patsy Jo Smith and step-father, Dale Smith; sisters and brothers in law, Karen and Dan Pace, Toni and Chris Cannon, Deborah and R. W. Hullender; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Karen Hamilton; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jennifer Floyd; daughter and son-in-law Casey and Daniel Brewster; and grandchildren, Greyson and Tamela Floyd, Carter and DeAnna Floyd, Paris Brewster, Gage Brewster, and many nieces and nephews.

May the breeze carry her as far as she carried the weight of our burdens; and may her soul remain among the wildflowers she planted in our hearts.

A service to celebrate the life of Cindy, officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 3:00 pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.  The family will greet their guests after the service in the foyer of the funeral home.
