Coyt Costner, 89, of Gastonia, passed away on November 17, 2015, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.
He was born April 10, 1926, in Gaston County, son of the late Chris Costner and Ferry Flowers Costner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Jean Cherry Costner; and several siblings.
Mr. Costner was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church, Gastonia for many years.
He was a US Air Force Master Sergeant who served during WWII.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Chapel Grove Baptist Church 716 Camp Rotary Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger L. Overton Jr.
The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with military honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Mr. Costner is survived by daughters, Donna Peeler and husband, Kenneth of Gastonia, Janet Pletz and husband, Lou of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Alicia Plott and husband, Michael of Mt. Holly, Daniel Cotter and wife, Meranda of Gastonia; great – grandchildren, Adrianna and Cameron Plott.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
