Cora Lanier Rouse

Cora Lanier Rouse, 81, formerly of Gastonia, went to be with the Lord with her hands raised August 12, 2015. She was born January 13, 1934 in Lenoir County, daughter of the late Rev. Paul Francis Lanier Sr. and Nannie Moore Lanier. Cora was a member of Taylorsville Church of God. She loved the Lord, her family and helping her husband spread the Word of God around the state. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of over 63 years the Rev. Kenneth Earl Rouse; sons Rev. Kenneth Wayne Rouse and wife, Barbara, Ricky Allen Rouse and wife, Robin; daughter, Earle Dean Christian and husband, Larry; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Paul F. Lanier, Jr.; sisters, Frances Greene, Hazel Jones and Virginia Francisco and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday at Dallas Church of God, 311 S. College Street, Dallas, officiated by the Pastors Danny Shortridge and Mark Albertino. The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Taylorsville Church of God, 486 East Main Avenue, Taylorsville, NC and 12 - 2 pm Saturday at Dallas Church of God. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Taylorsville Church of God, Building Fund, 556 Kerda Street, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
