Coit (Chuck) Robinson Ray III, 60, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Kings Mountain Hospital.

He was born August 22, 1955, in Gaston County, son of Coit Robinson Ray Jr. and the late Kathryn Jeanette Ray.

Coit was a member of Revival Tabernacle and was a Veteran of the US Marines. He earned the Medal of Honor from the US Marines and was an avid fisherman at the coast. Coit loved the beach, Nascar, and Racing. He was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers. He was a very generous and caring father, son, brother, and grandfather. His family will carry him in their hearts forever.

Along with his father, left to cherish his memories are his wife of 34 years, Tammy Ray; sons, Christopher (Chip) Ray and wife, Kristy, Nicholas Dain Ray and wife, Lindsay Ray, Nathan Dwayne Ray, Joshua Alan Ray; daughter, Gena Alexis Ray; brother, Anthony Scott Ray and wife, Karen; sister, Yolanda Lynn Archer; grandchildren, Gavin Ray, Scotti Ray, and Junior Ray; and nieces, Brittany Goode Roberts, Whitney Ray, and Erin Ray.

A funeral service will be held 1pm on Wednesday at Revival Tabernacle Church, 212 S. Hwy 27, Stanley. Officiating will be Pastor Mayberry.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
