Ted Robinson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ted Robinson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on September 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Ted was born on April 6, 1940, in Gastonia, North Carolina, where he spent his entire life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a commitment that shaped his values and character. After his service, he dedicated his career to being an electrician at Bolin Electric and CBP Processing, where he was known not only for his skilled craftsmanship but also for his unwavering work ethic and the kindness he showed to his colleagues.

Ted was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Gastonia and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, making bird feeders and houses, and also a replica of their church.
He was known as a giving man with a huge heart who would do anything to help those in need.

Ted was the cherished husband of Mary Robinson for over 8 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Kim Robinson Jewell; stepdaughter, Carol Stephenson; step grandson, Clinton Stephenson; step granddaughter, Bella Stephenson; brothers, Jerry Robinson (Eleanor) of Charlotte and Danny Robinson (Kathy) of Clover; his sisters Sharon Lawson (Tommy) of Shelby and Teresa Purkey (Jon) of Gastonia; his brothers-in-law Don Pearson of Belmont and Scott Penley of Hickory Grove, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Each of them, along with countless friends and community members, will remember Ted for his generous spirit and his ability to bring light into any room.

The family will gather to honor Ted's memory and hold funeral services on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Church, 1706 W. Davidson Ave., Gastonia, NC 28052. Pastor Raymond Walters will officiate the service.
The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm with the family greeting friends beginning at 1:00pm. This will be a time for family and friends to celebrate Ted's remarkable life and share cherished memories. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Hollywood Cemetery, where family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their final respects.

Ted will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. In this time of sorrow, let us come together to remember him as a man who exemplified love, compassion, and dedication to family and community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G.K and Margaret Robinson, sisters, Carol Pearson and Patricia Penley.
