Clyde Brakefield

Clyde Eugene Brakefield, age 63, of Sharon, SC, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. He was born February 15, 1952 in York County, SC, son of the late, C.W. and Sadie Moss Brakefield. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brakefield was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Jackson; and brother, Johnny Wayne "Smokey" Brakefield. He is survived by his uncle, Howard Brakefield; and great-nieces, Tonya Boyles and husband Bobby, Valarie White, Amanda Huffstetler, Danielle Huffstetler, and Christina Galloway. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Brad Vassey will be held 4 p.m. Monday, March 30, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in York, SC. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Levine Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078 and the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 323, Sharon, SC 29742. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
