Clifton W. Baker, 70, of Lowell passed away May 31, 2013 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas. He was born October 18, 1942 in York County, son of the late Wylie Lemuel and Eula Mae McNaughton Baker. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052 officiated by Rev. David Clippard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 pm at the funeral home before the service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly with military rites by the Gaston County Honor Guard. He graduated from Kershaw High School class of 1960 and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #8990 in Kershaw, SC where he was a Commander of the Post for 2 years. He also was in the Abney Lodge #211 A.F.M. in Kershaw, loved NASCAR, reading, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Mr. Baker is survived by: his loving wife of 12 years, Debbie Baker; son, Dean Poteat and wife Rachel of Lowell; daughter, Tina Costner and husband Matthew of Lowell; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; beloved dog, Harley.
