Cleo Davidson Mauney

Cleo Davidson Mauney, 89, of Gastonia, NC passed away January 25, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Cherokee County, NC on August 3, 1932 to the late William and Maggie Smith Davidson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Mauney; sisters, Evelyn Barnette and Betty Ann Butt; and a brother, Frank Davidson.

Cleo is survived by a daughter, Perian Simpson; grandchildren, David Patrick Simpson, Jr. and wife Jennifer, and Aaresta Evans; great-grandchildren, Cadence Simpson, Judah Simpson, Jonathan Lyles, and Sawyer Evans; and a sister, Carol Miller.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Walt Griggs, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Westview Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McAdenville Baptist Church, 192 Main Street, McAdenville, NC 28101.
