Clarice "Nanny" King

Clarice "Nanny" King, 92, of Gastonia, passed away May 10, 2024, at her home.

She was born April 7, 1932, in Lincoln County, NC, to the late Paul and Hattie Stamey Brown.

Clarice was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gastonia.  At Grace, she was a member of the Seniors Group and served on the Food Committee.  She loved to go on trips to the mountains and beach.  She also enjoyed spending time taking care of her flowers and sitting on the porch in her swing.

In addition to her parents, Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dale King, her sister, Sandra Jo Lingerfelt, and grandchild, Kelly Jackson.

Clarice is survived by her sons, Kenny King and wife Pat, and Terry King and wife Pat; daughters, Karen Hagan and husband Michael, and Kathy Boyd; sisters, Andra Aldridge, Renee Jordan, and Joan Simmons; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Virginia Falls.

The family will receive friends at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC on Monday, May 13, 2024, 6:00-8:00 pm.

A service to celebrate Clarice's life, officiated by Pastor Johnny Yarboro, will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.  Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
