Clara Dale Mccoig

Clara Dale McCoig, 86, of Gastonia, this beautiful lady went to her heavenly home on November 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 18, 1930, in Cleveland, GA, the daughter of the late William E. Lee and Elizabeth Freeman LeFrage.

Clara was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Gastonia.

She was a wonderful, dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family more than anything and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Peggy Trainer and husband Bob, Dennis Palmer and wife Gloria, Wayne Dale and wife Melissa, Michael Dale and Rita Martin, Ronnie Dale and wife Tammy; brothers Harry Lee and wife Rachel of Virginia Beach, Henry Lee and wife Joan of Hazelhurst, GA; sister Judy McClellan and husband Steve of Chesapeake, VA; brother-in-law Earl Gunter of Cleveland, GA and sister-in-law Kay Lee of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren James, Brian, Scott, Josh, Lindsey, Whitney, Morgan, Jonathon, Laura, Matthew; great-grandchildren Taylor, Logan, Clayton, Kinlee, Paxton, Jaiden, Liam, Ryker and Gage; many loved nieces, nephews, especially Sean, and "adopted" kids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Palmer; infant daughter Charlotte Elaine Palmer; husband Rayford Dale; husband Paul McCoig; granddaughter Julia Morris; brothers William Lee Jr. and Scott Lee; sisters Juanita Gunter and Linda Wilson and sister-in-law Floy Lee.

The family will receive friends 7 - 9 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastors John Gibbs and Ronnie Dale, will be held 2 pm Thursday at First Free Will Baptist Church, 2316 Union Road, Gastonia.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
