Chrystene Bullington

Chrystene Shults Bullington, 91, of Gastonia, NC, passed away at her home on April 14, 2023.

She was born in Spartanburg, SC, on June 11, 1931, to the late Harley G. Shults, Sr., and Pauline Lankford Shults.

In addition to her parents, Chrystene was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Eddie; and brother, Harley Shults, Jr.

Chrystene is survived by her daughters, Jeppie Bullington and Paula Sain and husband Dale; son-in-law, Rusty Hager; daughter-in-law, Myra Bullington; grandchildren, Benjamin Sain, Jesse Sain, Brooke Wilson and husband Aaron; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Evan, and Nora Kate Wilson; and brother, David Shults and wife Nina; and special friends and caregivers, Sara Carpenter, Charlotte Cook, Tammy Dale, Lynda Hamilton, Leslie Rudisill, and Terry Swayney.

A service to celebrate the life of Chrystene, officiated by Pastor Roger Mathis, will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, at 4:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church, 482 N. Myrtle School Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
