Christine Smith

Gastonia, NC Christine Smith, 81, formerly of Stanley, passed away November 27, 2012, at Alexandria Place, Gastonia. She was born May 11, 1931 in Rock Hill, SC, daughter of the late Brawley Ruben Ferrell and Gladys Stokes Dowd. A funeral service will be held 11:30 am on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. C. David Jones Jr. and eulogy by Steve Ray. The family will receive friends 10:30 - 11:30 am on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly. She is survived by: her husband, Floyd Smith; daughters and sons in-law, Brenda and Tony Locklear of Gastonia, Kimberly and James Smith of Lincolnton; brothers, Robert, Jack and David Ferrell all of Charlotte; sisters, Mildred Reep and Marcelle Straine both of Charlotte; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: brother, Bob Ferrell and a sister, Juanita Holland. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P. O.
