Christine "Kris" Case Lowe

Christine "Kris" Case Lowe, 51, died peacefully Thursday, September 15, 2016 at home after a long courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

She was born June 1, 1965 in Gastonia, NC, daughter of the late Buddy Case.

Kris was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and Belmont Abby College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.  She was registered as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of North Carolina.  She retired from the Gaston County School System as the Executive Director of Operations.  She was also a member of Loray Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Donald K. Lowe; son Eric T. Spivey; step-son Brian A. Lowe and wife Ann; step-daughter Shannon L. Waterman and husband Jason; brother Michael Case; grandchildren William Lowe, Tyler Waterman and London Waterman; aunt Shirley Goodson.

Memorials may be submitted to Loray Baptist Church, 1128 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052 or The Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter of the ALS Association, 4 N. Blount Street, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27601.

Special appreciation is expressed to Loray Baptist Church, "The Care Team", lead by Cynthia Starr, The Wake Forest Baptist Hospital ALS Clinic, and other health care providers who assisted in the care of Mrs. Lowe in her struggle with ALS.

A celebration of life, officiated by Dr. Kent Cranford, will be held 11 am Monday at Loray Baptist Church, 1128 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
