Christal "Christie" Johnson, 45, of Gastonia, passed away May 9, 2017 at her residence.
She was born April 26, 1972, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of Hazel Franks Johnson and the late Henry Andrew Johnson.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Westley Johnson; sister, Tammie Johnson; brother Scott Johnson and long-time partner, Johnny Miller.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Sally Franks; uncles Walter and Jerry Franks and aunt Priscilla Franks.
A celebration of life service, officiated by Pastor Matthew Morris, will be held 2 pm Friday, May 19, at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
Receiving of friends and family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Humane Society – PO Box 2334, Gastonia, NC 28054-2334.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
