Chouvis Dean Ballard, 56, of Bessemer City, passed away on January 15, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born July 11, 1964, in Gaston County, son of the late Chouvis Ballard and Lois Bradshaw Ballard.

He was a 1983 graduate of Bessemer City High School and a former member of the Bessemer City Fire Department.

He was employed with HSM Host Corporation at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

He loved to cook for his friends and family.

He loved all types of music and loved his fur baby Chevy.

A graveside service will be held Noon, January 22, 2021,  at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Scott Whitener.

He will lie in state  10:30 -11:30 am on Friday, January 22, 2021,at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.

Chouvis is survived by his  sisters, Carmen McBride, Janie Parker; numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
