Chouvis "Chuck" Ballard

Chouvis "Chuck" Ballard, 82, of Bessemer City, passed away on June 11, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was born July 3, 1932 in Gaston County, son of the late George Dewitt Ballard and Eva Crawford Ballard. Mr. Ballard was US Army Veteran. He retired from Bessemer City Fire Department and Acme Petro in Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Harvest Baptist Church 311 North 14th. Street Bessemer City officiated by Pastor Chip Stowe. The family will receive friends 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia. Interment will be at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Ballard is survived by children, Carmen McBride and husband Jay of Bessemer City, Janine Parker and husband Dennis of Crouse, Chouvis Dean Ballard of Bessemer City; five grandchildren; ten great - grandchildren; numerous nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Bradshaw Ballard; brothers, Thomas B. Ballard, Hurley Ballard, David Allen Ballard. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
