Charlotte Shuford Isbill, 80, formerly of Lowell, NC, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at County Time Inn, Gastonia.
She was born November 30, 1941, in Lincoln Co, NC, daughter of the late John Oscar Shuford, Jr. and Ellen Holland Shuford.
Charlotte graduated from Lincolnton High. She taught high school English in both Lincoln and Gaston counties. She went to Duke and Vanderbilt University, majoring in English, attended the University of North Carolina where she studied law, and she taught writing classes at Gaston College She was the attorney for the City of McAdenville, Spencer Mountain, for many years and practiced law in Gaston County. She was a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and loved genealogy and studying local history. Charlotte also served on the Lowell Beautification Committee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband married November 30, 1974, James William Isbill.
Charlotte is survived by her sons, James W. Isbill and wife, Rachel; and grandchildren, Lillian, and Lucy Isbill.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held 3pm on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Hollybrook Cemetery - 302 Hollybrook Ave, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
