Charlotte Kay Barrett Shehorn

Charlotte Kay Barrett Shehorn, 66, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born March 1, 1955, in Gaston Co, NC.

Kay joins her parents Phelmer "Buck'' Barrett and mother Majie Barrett. Kay loved being involved in her community and expressed this fondness through her work with the Gastonia Community Watch organization, singing with the Sweet Adelines, American Legion Auxiliary Member, and involvement with the Eastern Stars. She enjoyed planting and working in her yard and visiting the beach where she could be found Shag Dancing to her favorite beach music. Above all else Kay loved being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband Levi Shehorn of 31 years, her son Brian Lowe, his wife Ann and her grandson William, her daughter Shannon Waterman, her husband Jason and her grandchildren Tyler and London, and her sisters Patricia Barrett West and Janice Barrett McClure.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. We ask that anyone wanting to attend please wear a mask.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
