Charlie Reeves

We are saddened to share that Charles "Charlie" Reeves, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, at the age of 82 in Gastonia, NC. Born on August 23, 1944, in Birmingham, Alabama, Charlie lived a life full of adventure and love.

Charlie was known for his big heart and infectious spirit. He was an outstanding man who brought joy to everyone around him. An avid gambler, he enjoyed the thrill of the game and was always up for a good time. His passion for travel took him to many places, creating treasured memories along the way.

For several years, Charlie worked as a salesman in the textile industry. He was also a proud member of the Shriners, which reflected his generous nature and commitment to helping others.

He was devoted to his late wife, Kaye Reeves, and their love story is one that will never be forgotten. Charlie leaves behind his son-in-law, Joseph "Joey" Carswell Sr.; grandchildren, Joseph Carswell (Hannah) and Monika Carswell; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Corneau (Thomas), Carmen Melton, Nathan Carswell, Jaxon Carswell and Peyton Carswell; great-great-grandchildren, Layton Corneau and Deakon Corneau.

He was preceded in death not only by his wife but both parents, Tillman and Pauline Reeves; daughter, Cindy Carswell; brothers, Gene, Harold, Billy and his twin Larry Reeves; and granddaughter, Misty Melton.

A celebration of Charlie's life will be held and details will be shared soon.

Charlie will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Charlie.
