Charles "Hammerhead" Wilson

Charles "Hammerhead" Wilson, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on January 10, 1942, in Gaston County, to the late Wayne and Ruth Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Wilson, Billy Gene Wilson and Bobby Wilson.

Charles is survived by his wife of more than 31 years, Shelia Whitley Wilson; sons, Mike Stone, Edward Cloninger (Danielle); brothers, Wayne Wilson Jr., Jimmy Wilson; sister, Betty Summitt (Bill); four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, NC, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
