Tommy Williams, 76, of Belmont, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
He was born in Mecklenburg County on October 17, 1946 to the late Charles and Doris Williams.
Tommy was a member of Souls Harbor Tabernacle in Gastonia. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He retired from the Mecklenburg School System after 25 years of service. He started County Line Band and loved playing music. He loved his family; he loved boating and cooking.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Williams; brother, David Williams; daughter in law, Tracy Stiles.
Tommy is survived by his sons, Jeff Williams (Crystal), Curtis Stiles (Jenna), Jeff Stiles (Misty); daughters, Angel Cole (Wyatt), Michelle Williams (Mark Crosthwait); sisters, Lynn Flemming, Vivian Cooper, Jo-Carol Goble; sister-in-law, Karen Williams; five grandchildren, Chris Williams, Hannah Williams, Chandler Williams, Nadya Bradshaw, Brinkley Bradshaw; two great-grandchildren, Callie Williams and Cash Benfield; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service officiated by Pastor James Chambers will be held at 2 :00 PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, NC 28052. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Gastonia, NC.
