Charles Dean Thompson

Charles Dean Thompson, 65, of Gastonia passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 11, 1950 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Robert Lee Thompson and Mable Gibson. Charles was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Gaston County Police Department in 1995 and was a substitute teacher of Gaston County. He loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lisa Passmore Thompson; sons, Matthew Thompson, Jeffrey Thompson; step-son, Brad Chaplin; daughters, Aimee Thompson; step-daughter, Lesley Chaplin; brothers, Robert Thompson; sister, Marlene Heafner; grandchild, Sterling Espada; step-grandchildren, Payton Chaplin, Aiden Chaplin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Fore. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday at Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, South Chapel 1503 S. York Road. Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with military honors by the Marine Corps. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
