Charles Edward Rayfield

Charles Edward Rayfield, 82, of Bessemer City, passed away on January 21, 2015, at Belaire Health Care Center, Gastonia. He was born June 24, 1932 in Gaston County, son of the late Roy William Rayfield Sr.and Glennie Plemmons Rayfield. Charles was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle, Dallas. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia officiated by Pastors Ralph Carver and Gene Ware. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Left to cherish his memories are daughter, Diane Ledford and husband Mike; brothers, Roy "Bud" Rayfield Jr., Harold Rayfield and wife Jeanette; sisters, Ruby Lahrmer and husband Darrel, Reba Costner Grigg and husband Carris; grandchildren, Natalie Ledford Kerr and husband Mike, Philip Ledford and wife Erin; uncle,Dalton Rayfield and wife Pat. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hooper Rayfield; brother, Earl Rayfield; sister, Irene Jenkins. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
