Charles Earl Pasour

Charles Earl Pasour, 84, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at Stanley Total Living Center in Gaston County. He was born April 1, 1940, in Dallas, NC, son of the late Earl Deaton Pasour and Maria Maness Pasour. He attended NC State College, a 1963 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, and a 1974 graduate of Appalachian State University.

After serving in the US Army for 6 years and being honorably discharged in 1969, Charles began his long career as a public school teacher for the US Civil Service at the American School in Nuremberg, West Germany. His memories and love of Germany, especially Bavaria, were repeated consistently throughout his life.

Charles is survived by his nephews, Chandler Burns (Lynne), of Chapel Hill, David Burns (Debbie) of North Grafton, MA, Chris Burns (Lori), of Woodstock, GA, Court Burns (Michael) of Edgewater, MD, Shepherd Johnson of Gum Springs, VA and his nieces Allison Burns Geist (John) of Lake Toxaway, NC and Lisa Johnson Diconsiglio of Arlington, VA.

Charles was a long-time member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Gastonia, NC.

There will be graveside memorial service on Saturday, June 1st, at 2:30pm at Holy Communion Lutheran Church at 103 W. Church St. Dallas, NC. Officiating will be Deacon, Bill Melton, along with an Honor Guard playing taps. Family and friends of Charles are all welcome.
