Charles Robert Norris

Charles Robert Norris, known to his friends and family as a music-loving man who enjoyed bank fishing and playing the piano, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at Gaston Health and Rehab of Gastonia, NC. Born on November 26, 1938, in Gatson County, NC, Charles lived a simple yet fulfilling life.

He was a dedicated parts deliverer in the machine shop industry and took great pride in his work. Charles was a hardworking individual who always strived to provide for his loved ones.

Charles had a passion for music and was often found playing the piano and even wrote a heartfelt song for his beloved daughter. He generously shared his musical talents by playing the piano for the residents of the nursing home where he resided. He also enjoyed playing his super Nintendo and watching Tom and Jerry, trying to stay a kid at heart as much as he could.

Left to cherish Charles memories are his sons, Dennis Norris, Andy Norris, Chris Norris, and Jeff Norris; daughter, Patricia Norris; stepson, Tracy Williams; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Lunsford and Lena Journee Cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Norris; parents, Dennis Norris and Ella Manus; son, Jason Robert Norris; brother, David Norris.

In memory of Charles Robert Norris, a Funeral Service will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Prior to the service, a Visitation will take place at the same location starting at 1:00 pm. Following the service, Charles will be laid to rest at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia, NC.

Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the songs he played, the love he shared, and the fish he caught on sunny afternoons by the riverbank. May he rest in peace.
