Charles Franklin Melton

Charles Franklin Melton, 77, of Gastonia, passed away on January 22, 2020, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born October 18, 1942, in Gaston County, son of the late Samuel and Lucy Melton.
Charles was a member of Calvary Baptist Church He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing in his younger days.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 2:00 -4:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Looper Melton; son, Chuck Melton and wife Jonanne of Gastonia; grandchildren, Dusty Gaston and wife Tosha, Tyler Melton, Michael Gaston, Jon Melton and wife Christina; great-grandchildren, Riley Gaston, Logan Gaston, Mason Melton, Dani Melton, Emmett Gaston, Amelia Gaston.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Melton Shedd; his best friend, beloved dog, China.
