Charles Mccarter

Charles McCarter, 93, of Gastonia, passed away February 23, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was born February 20, 1929, in York County, SC to the late D.D. and Beatrice Grayson McCarter.

Charles was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gastonia, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Effie P. McCarter; son, Charles McCarter, Jr.; and a sister, Hazel McCarter Koontz.

Charles is survived by a son, Mitchell Brent McCarter; step-son, Leland "Buster" Lewis and wife Kathy; and special friends and neighbors, Willie and Inez Torro and their puppy, Bella.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia, 1621 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC
