Charles Robert Johnson, 78, of Gastonia, passed away on September 21, 2018, at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1940, in Guilford County, son of the late Calvin and Tessie Johnson.
Charles was a member of Fraley Memorial Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
He was a Mason and had many hobbies that he enjoyed.
He was also a former employee of Yellow Freight.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Johnson.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 35 years, Linda Potts Johnson; sons, Scott Johnson and wife Ann, Keith Johnson, Brian Johnson, and Eric Manley; sister, Sarah Logan; and grandson, Michael Johnson.
A memorial service, officiated by Dr. Warner Doles and Rev. Charles Keller, will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church, 3025 Fraley Church Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Parkinson Association of the Carolinas, 2101 Sardis Road North, Box 15, Charlotte, NC 28227.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
