Belmont
Charles "Bill" Gordon, 69 of Belmont, passed away on August 28th at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1948 in Hendersonville, the son of the late Edison and Lois Bell Gordon.
Bill was a member of East Belmont Free Will Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Connie Smith Gordon; children, Eddie Moore, Shannon Gordon, Leslie Tilley (Aaron), Rev. Luis Blanco (Tammy) and Maria Pickens; sister, Marian McCombs (Roy); grandchildren, Lyric, Brittney, Drew (Holly), Raven (Dakota), Nicholas, Trey, Alex, Savanna and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Danika, Adeline and Evelyn; aunt, Betty Mills and fur-baby, TK.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Fortner.
A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, September 1, 2018 at East Belmont Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Scotty Stewart.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Westview Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Belmont Free Will Baptist Church, 909 Edgemont Avenue, Belmont, NC 28012.
Special thanks to all the nurses at CaroMont Regional Medical Center and Fresenius Dialysis Clinics in Belmont and Gastonia.
